THESE ARE THE MOST INSTAGRAMMABLE CITIES IN AUTUMN - AND IT'S GOOD NEWS FOR LONDONERS

Planning any trips this autumn?

Well, you could do a lot worse than the stunning cities on these lists.

Travelbag has analysed the Instagram and TikTok hashtags ‘#AutumnIn[Location]’ and the North Americanised ‘#Fallin[Location]’ for 100 cities around the world to find the most popular autumn locations on the social media platforms.

Looking at how often these hashtags were used, and in TikTok’s case, viewed, the cities were ranked accordingly.

On Instagram, London took the top spot.

Temperatures tend to sit around 20°C to 10°C in London during this season, and even though it can be a bit rainy, that’s no reason why you can’t pack a brolly and stroll through Richmond Park, Kew Gardens, and Regent’s Canal.

There’s also absolute scores of cosy pubs to dry off in afterwards, which doesn’t hurt.

The most Instagrammable cities in autumn

  1. London, United Kingdom – 84,113 hashtags
  2. Paris, France – 64,925 hashtags
  3. New York, United States – 37,466 hashtags
  4. Chicago, United States – 24,567 hashtags
  5. Melbourne, Australia – 22,378 hashtags
  6. Seoul, South Korea – 19,684 hashtags
  7. Rome, Italy – 17,773 hashtags
  8. Seattle, United States – 16,960 hashtags
  9. Berlin, Germany – 16,642 hashtags
  10. Sydney, Australia – 16,258 hashtags

Perhaps unsurprisingly, picturesque Paris was next on the list, followed by New York City, of iconic fall film When Harry Met Sally fame.

On TikTok, it was a slightly different story.

London came in third, while Paris took the top spot and Chicago came in second.

Autumn happens to be the beginning of wine season in France, and Paris has lots of festivals to celebrate.

If you feel like going for an autumnal stroll, you’ll have to give the Luxembourg Gardens or Parc des Buttes-Chaumont a look in.

If you want to take in the city like a local would, GetYourGuide and resident, Charlotte Altieri previously recommended checking out the local markets like Saint-Ouen and Marché d’Aligre.

As for food, check out Resturant Le Moulin de la Galette for traditional French food and Fichon – a favourite with Montmartre locals.
