All NBA fans appreciate that Russell Westbrook is “Thundering” his way to a statistical season unseen in decades, and LeBron James, the best player in the NBA, owns the crown distinguishing him as the current “King” of professional basketball. But, when assembling a list of the preeminent players from across the National Basketball Association, three “big men in the middle” are proving themselves worthy of inclusion in the best player debate.
While James, Westbrook, “The Beard”, (aka: James Harden), and the celebrated half of the “Splash Brothers” – Steph Curry always mentioned in M.V.P debates, Karl Anthony Towns, DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis may be ushering in a new age of big man dominance in pro hoops.
While Harden and Westbrook throw down triple-double stats on a regular basis, this trio of giants is doubling up – scoring double-digit points, with each hauling down over a dozen rebounds per game. Harden and Westbrook are slowly establishing a new benchmark for court productivity, and James is the King until someone steals his crown. But, the Big KAT, Boogie and The Brow are elevating their teams in a manner reminiscent of when center play dominated the NBA.
The four most talked about men in the NBA will continue to dazzle fans with their brilliance and it may not be time to adjudicate in a new age for pro basketball.
