This is getting insane, but Europe took another NBA player today. Center Nenad Kristic who spent three seasons with the New Jersey Nets is signing a two year deal to play in Russia.
Kristic was hurt for parts of the past two seasons, but at one point was an intregal part of the Nets franchise.
So far I think the count is at 6-7 NBA players defecting to Europe this summer. The most notable of course has been the American born Josh Childress who signed a three year deal with a club in Greece.
Kristic found some success in the NBA, but injuries held him back from reaching his full potential. The former Net is now heading to Russia with a two-year deal.
Brown and the Pistons have reportedly agreed on a two year deal.
ESPN is reporting that the Pistons and free agent center Kwame Brown have agreed a to a two-year, $9 million deal.
Obviously this doesn’t mean that Brown will be rolling around with the city’s gangsta mayor, but it does mean the Pistons might be looking to move one of their other bigs (Amir Johnson, Jason Maxiell, Rasheed Wallace or Antonio McDyess) in a trade in the very near future.
I don’t know her name, but this is supposedly Andris Biedrins’ girlfriend. Obviously it pays off to be a rich ball player, but I’m sure that his DEP Gel spiked hair is only helping matters.
Yes, this is Andris Biedrins' girlfriend. I bet she's fairly happy he is about to sign a $63 million deal.
For only $2.95 at Walmart you can score some DEP Gel and get babes like Biedrins.
This gives me chills. No ifs, ands or buts about it.
There are a lot of people who don’t like Michael Jordan, whatever your reason, you can’t deny his greatness.
Obviously this wasn’t MJ’s last shot, he came back with the Wizards for two years in 2001, but this is his last shot as a Bull, and this won the 1998 NBA Finals for Chicago Bulls. That was the third straight title for the Bulls, the second time they did that in a period of eight years.
Nobody could take over a game like Jordan…NOBODY.
If you don’t get chills watching this, you just can’t be a sports fan.
The Warriors and center Andris Biedrins agreed to a six year, $63 million deal.
Andris Biedrins is a pretty good center. He can block shots and he can rebound. The four year veteran agreed to sign a six year, $63 million deal on Sunday with the Golden State Warriors. Biedrins was being heavily pursued by European clubs, and that may be why he received such a big offer.
Biedrins more than solid, but 63 million is pretty crazy for a player who averages around 11 points and 10 rebounds per night. The last two years Biedrins has been consistent with those averages in a growing role with the Warriors, that may grow even more if the Warriors find a way to move rumored disgruntled big man Al Harrington.
The deal was definitely one the Warriors had high on their list in what was the busiest Warriors summer that I can remember. Read the rest of this entry »
Vujacic opted to stay in the US with the Lakers unlike many of his European counterparts.
The Lakers were able to resign guard Sasha Vujacic to a three year, 15 million dollar deal.
Vujacic is a key member of the Lakers bench. As reported yesterday, rumors were swirling that he was considering an offer in Europe.
The Lakers haven’t made any other splashes to their team yet, besides of course losing Rony Turiaf to Golden State, a potential huge loss. Obviously the Lakers are really counting on Andrew Bynum to come back healthy and if he does, that is enough to propel them to be the best team in the league.
Childress signing with Greece has paved the way for more American born NBA players to take bigger offers overseas.
There have been plenty of American basketball players to take the courts overseas, whether it be in Europe or somewhere else outside the states. Usually it’s guys hoping to make it in the NBA, or guys who’ve wore out their welcome in the league.
All of a sudden, the tides have turned.
The big development over the past two weeks is the reports and rumors of NBA players defecting to Europe.
Over the past couple weeks we’ve seen Bostjan Nachbar, Carlos Delfino, Jorge Garbajosa and Juan Carlos Navarro all take big offers from clubs overseas and say goodbye to the NBA. Obviously, these are all foreign born players and it’s nothing to be too alarmed about, none of these players are near all-star status.
Though within a matter of days, things throughout the world of NBA free agency have changed as we know it. Read the rest of this entry »
This is kind of silly, kind of filled with dedication and actually not a bad song in the sense of things, the hook is catchy.
I give my man props.
So he got what he wanted, Baron Davis is on the Clippers. Unfortunately, they wound up losing Elton Brand, hopefully Camby and Kaman stay healthy and this kid can enjoy a solid Clippers season.
